Why the Bahujan Project?

In Kerala’s public imagination, Bahujan history often lives in the footnotes — at the margins of grander narratives, compressed into single sentences. The aim of this project is to turn those footnotes into main text.

What appears here will not be research papers. These are notes meant to be read, shared, and argued with. History, books, cinema, education — anything that touches Bahujan life is in scope.

Most pieces will be in Malayalam; some in English. Both languages are equal citizens here.
